CE Marking
From the 1st of July 2014, CE marking became mandatory for fabricated structural steelwork.
As part of our commitment to meet and exceed your subcontract requirements, GAP Metal has been awarded a Factory Production Control certificate. This means we can continue to work together on your structural projects up to and including EXC2, in accordance with BS EN 1090-2 : 2008 + A1 : 2011.
We ask that you specify your particular requirements for a project at the enquiry stage.
Quality
GAP-Metal achieved ISO 9001 approval in 2014 and are regularly assessed to the ISO 9001:2015 management system standard. This is the foundation of the company’s philosophy to continually improve and develop. The processes and procedures that have been implemented as part of the ISO 9001 standard have assisted in the smooth and effective running of our company.
We apply a practical approach to Quality Assurance and getting it right first time is our primary aim. Our Quality Management System (QMS) is process based making it simple to operate and easy to understand and navigate.
The QMS is constantly assessed with internal audits and monitored by an independent audit body. Following feedback from customers and audits our system is reviewed and updated to reflect changes as process improvements are implemented. The same practical approach is taken regarding Quality Control.
We manufacture components and assemblies to customer drawings and specifications. Our customers’ drawings and specification are very important to us as our aim is to meet these requirements first time. Our staff should have the confidence to know that components we produced conform to the drawing and customers’ specifications before they are dispatched.
When investigating problems we apply a methodology to determine the root cause and effective solution. We monitor our performance using standard metrics and monthly reports. This helps us focus on Quality, Cost and Delivery performance. We are also aware that it is paramount to listen to our customers concerns and requirements. Responding to them quickly is what sets us apart from many of our competitors.
